Summer League Program Information
SKSA Summer Baseball League Program Overview
Overview
League Format:
-
The format is to offer a very condensed schedule of 10 games for players of all age groups in an open class format (Metro, Select, Elite and Premier all welcome).

The age groups for summer league will be combined as 5/6, 7/8, 9/10, 11/12, and 13/14 in order to increase the number of teams per age group.
Season Details:
-
Season starts June 22nd, ending 1st week of August
-
No games will be played from July 11th through July 25th due to the National Championships
-
All games will be played in double header format
-
Games will be played during the week on Tuesdays and Thursdays evenings, although makeups may require weekend play

Games will typically have one umpire (6U games do not have umpires - coaches will umpire)
Guidelines for team formation include:

Managers can freeze 3 core players from current team (manager's player, asst coach player, and one additional player)

All non-core players will participate in tryouts
-
Remaining team spots will be filled from draft at tryouts
-
Late sign-ups or players that do not try-out will be placed by the league
Tryouts:
Summer League tryouts will be held on the following dates. Managers should plan to attend. All players not trying out will be placed by the league. All tryouts will be held at Rothwood:

6U - Friday June 11th Field #4 at 6:00PM

8U - Saturday June 12th Field #10 at 12:30PM
-
10U - Monday June 14th Field #3 at 6:00PM
-
12U - Thursday June 10th Field #5 at 6:00PM
-
14U - Thursday June 10th Field #7 at 6:00PM
Uniforms:
-
Uniforms will consist of a SKSA Summer League shirt and a team hat
-
Parents/players will use their own pants, socks, belts etc.

Uniforms will be handed out at the first game
Equipment:
-
The league will provide standard equipment as with the Fall and Spring seasons
-
The league will provide game balls
-
Equipment handout will be held on June 12th, 9am-12pm, and June 16th, 6pm-9pm
