SKSA Tournament RulesThe "no-slash" rule is in effect at SKSA run tournaments. The no-slash rule is for ages 12 & below. When a batter, in the umpires judgement, squares to show bunt, he may not pull back and swing away. This is classified as a safety rule. The penalty is that the batter is declared out, runners may not advance and the 3rd base coach receives a warning. On a subsequent infraction the 3rd base coach will also be ejected. This is a separate rule from the "squeeze rule", where with a runner on 3rd attempting to steal home, the batter must bunt or take the pitch. COACHES - do not teach your corner infielders to crash to close in a "slash" situation. Again, this is a safety rule, if the batter should accidentally swing away, your fielder could be seriously injured. If we feel that coaches are teaching the fielders to crash, we will remove this rule from our events. |
